One of our most significant underground projects to date is the Madison Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, set to serve the densely populated neighborhoods in Downtown Seattle, First Hill, Capitol Hill, The Central District, and Madison Valley. It aims to provide new, reliable, and frequent bus service between 1st Ave in downtown Seattle to Martin Luther King Jr Way. Demonstrating our seamless collaboration with King County Metro, we are actively facilitating the launch of the new RapidRide G Line. This comprehensive project encompasses 43 traffic signal modifications to existing intersections and the installation of brand-new infrastructure, including 140 new traffic signal\/overhead trolley system concrete foundations and poles, street and pedestrian lighting infrastructure, 3.5 miles of conduit installation, an Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) for vehicles and buses, and a brand-new 171 square foot Comfort Station serving as the bus supervisor office and driver break room. Representing one of SDOT\u2019s largest and most complex capital projects, it is expected to be completed in 2024.<\/p>\n
